About KC Tenants

KC Tenants is the citywide tenant union, an organization led by a multigenerational, multiracial, anti-racist base of poor and working-class tenants in Kansas City. KC Tenants organizes to ensure that everyone in KC has a safe, accessible, and truly affordable home. We believe the people closest to the problem are closest to the solution. To us, organizing is fundamentally democratic; it relies on developing tenant leaders to learn their rights, tell their own stories, and determine their own liberation.

About Waxahatchee

Waxahatchee is the musical project of American singer-songwriter Katie Crutchfield. Named after a creek near her childhood home, Waxahatchee blends emotionally raw lyrics with indie rock, folk, and Americana. Her breakthrough album Cerulean Salt (2013) earned critical acclaim for its lo-fi intimacy, and she evolved further with the country‑influenced Saint Cloud (2020). Her most recent album, Tigers Blood, released last March and was nominated for Best Americana Album at the 2024 GRAMMY Awards.
